  - Enjoy a Magical Island Honeymoon in Mozambique

With its turquoise waters, white sandy beaches, tropical forests, sumptuous seafood, and luxurious accommodation, Mozambique is mesmerizing travelers from around the world. This magical destination offers a rich cultural experience and idyllic honeymoon hot spots.

Honeymooners or those searching for a romantic getaway have found sanctuary in the Bazaruto Archipelago, a cluster of five tropical islands, located off the coast of Mozambique. The two largest islands are Benguerra and Bazaruto, and boast superb 5 star accommodation.

The other islands are uninhabitable, but couples can indulge in a short sail trip and enjoy a private picnic of one of the deserted beaches.

Bazaruto is the largest in the archipelago, and comprises of silky sand dunes, freshwater lakes, mangrove forest, and pristine beaches. The surrounding turquoise ocean delights divers with its colourful coral reefs and incredible marine life. Bazaruto is one of the best fishing spots in the world for catching marlin, kingfish and other large game fish.

Indigo Bay Island Resort & Spa is one of the stylish and most beautiful resorts on the island. The resort comprises of 29 thatched beach chalets, a Beachfront Honeymoon Chalet and 14 Bay View Villas, including an executive suite and a presidential villa.

The Honeymoon Chalet with its own private plunge pool, is ideally situated only 20m from the beach and is secluded from the rest of the chalets.

The Resort offers two swimming pools, a selection of bars, an up-market restaurant, private dining, and a newly refurbished spa, run by the renowned Sanctuary Group.

Benguerra Island is the second largest island in the Bazaruto Archipelago, and is less than a kilometre south of Bazaruto Island. Like its neighbour, it also has golden dunes, inland lakes and stunning beaches.

Hidden in the lush forest lies Benguerra Lodge, offering a selection of three luxury accommodations. The romantic wooden Cabanas are built on the edge of the beach and include a private deck with a jacuzzi/plunge pool and sun loungers.

The Casita’s blends safari chic and Arabic style. Each Casita has a private timber deck with plunge pool and an outdoor dining gazebo for starlit dinners.

The exclusive Villa offers luxury furnishings and private facilities - ideal for family getaways or honeymooners. The Villa boasts a personal chef, two double bedrooms, an intimate lounge and dining area, a private wooden deck with a swimming pool and private garden and beach access.

The Main Lodge offers a lounge and bar, dining room, a swimming pool and small Spa.

Further south on the island is Marlin Lodge built on elevated wooden stilts and overlooking tranquil Flamingo bay. Marlin Lodge offers 14 Beach Chalets and three executive luxury suites set just above the beach, with breathtaking sea views. Each chalet offers luxurious finishes and a verandah - perfect for a private dinner for two.

Marlin Lodge offers the Marlin Beauty & Wellness Centre, a timber restaurant, cocktail lounge, business centre and swimming pool. Benguerra or Bazaruto are a short flight from Vilanculos in Mozambique.
