– South African Cities getting ready to host 2010 FIFA World Cup |

Its only two years before the world’s biggest sporting event comes to South Africa. The FIFA World Cup will be played on African soil in 2010 and plans are full steam ahead to stage this prestigious and popular event.
South Africa is one of the most beautiful countries in the world and several of her cities are gearing up to host the numerous visitors and players. Here is a taste of the host cities…
Johannesburg – The bustling city of Johannesburg, is the economic hub of South Africa. Two Johannesburg stadiums will be used for the event.
Pretoria – Affectionately known as the Jacaranda city after the beautiful trees that line its streets, Pretoria is north of Johannesburg and the capital of South Africa.
Cape Town - South Africa's oldest and most beautiful city lies beneath iconic Table Mountain. Cape Town is famous for its pristine beaches, lush vineyards, wild Atlantic Ocean and cosmopolitan city life.
Durban – Situated on the Eastern coast of South Africa, Durban is popular for its long white beaches, warm water and tropical climate.
Port Elizabeth – Locally referred to as the Friendly City, Port Elizabeth lies in Nelson Mandela Bay and is famous for its wild ocean, nearby malaria-free game reserves, and world famous surfing spots.
Bloemfontein – Meaning "flower fountain", Bloemfontein is a picturesque city found in the heart of the Free State, and blossoming with thousands of rose bushes and some poignant historical memorials.
Rustenburg - Rustenburg in the North West province is one of the world's most heavily mined regions, with a wealth of platinum underground.
Nelspruit – Found in the fertile valley of the Crocodile River, Nelspruit is the capital of Mpumalanga province and approximately 330 km east of Johannesburg.
Polokwane - The capital of Limpopo province is ideally situated near the border of the Kruger National Park, famous for its abundant wildlife including the Big Five.
