Bumi Hills - the pride of Zimbabwe’s rebirth

Perched on a hillside, overlooking the breathtaking vistas of Lake Kariba, Bumi Hills Safari Lodge is the ultimate safari getaway. First built in the 1970’s Bumi Hills is undergoing a massive upgrade in the wake of Zimbabwe’s political rebirth.

This stunning safari lodge is being lovingly upgraded to world-class 5 star luxury. The transformation will include a new infinity pool with views over the lake, a pool side bar, and a modern kitchen ready to serve delicious African fare.

The décor is an eclectic mix of the culture and history of the area featuring facets of the elegant colonial era, the ethnic Tonga, and the thrilling wildlife.

The lodge encompasses 10 superior suites overlooking the Lake and 10 Standard Rooms, newly refurbished with furniture from Indonesia and South Africa. Guests looking to unwind can relax in the revamped spa, which boasts mesmerizing views of the wilderness and lake.

Bumi Hills offers an option of fine or casual dining, and a gentleman’s club and snooker room. Alternatively enjoy a unique and unforgettable dinner on the shores of Lake Kariba.

Bumi Hills is ideal for corporate incentive and conference groups offering a luxury boardroom for 10 people, equipped with the latest equipment and facilities. The lodge can accommodate up to 40 people, and if necessary an additional 40 can stay onboard the Southern Belle boat, which offers a 80 seater air-conditioned conference facility.

Bumi Hills is Big Five territory and the Lodge has recently acquired new safari vehicles and boats for game viewing, cruising, fishing, and birding. Expect to see herds of buffalo and elephants grazing nearby, while lions often make an appearance. The elusive leopard is not easily found but hides in the nearby wilderness. The Matusadona National park is located close to the lodge, and is a sanctuary for Black Rhino. Adventurous guests can track these majestic animals on foot in the reserve.

Bumi Hills is a one hour direct flight over Lake Kariba, from Victoria Falls. This direct flight operates daily.
