We have an exciting, bumper packed East African Easter edition for you!

Hot off the press is the news that all visa fees for Kenya have been reduced to $25 for the next two years - that is a 50% price cut!

Kenya Airways is introducing a further 6 flights per week between Nairobi and Johannesburg from 2nd April and Air Arabia has already commenced operations between the UAE and Nairobi 4 times a week. Now you have even more reasons to include an East African leg on your incentive trip!

Our featured destination is the central conservation area of the Serengeti and Masai Mara - stage of the annual Great Migration. There are fantastic accommodation options to choose from in this region and our story about Kichwa Tembo touches on the "Out of Africa" experience you will have at this tented safari camp. Even better, &Beyond is offering an autumn special* at Kichwa Tembo - stay for 4 nights but only pay for 3! (*terms & conditions apply).

How about the Serena Hotels Group? They are leading the way in Eco Friendly tourism in Uganda, Tanzania and Kenya and have a large complement of properties suitable for the incentive market.

If you are a golfing fan, the amazing 18 hole championship course at the Great Rift Valley Lodge and Resort is the most spectacular setting for a quick round as well as being an ideal stopover en route to your safari destination.

For an unforgettable tropical island wedding and honeymoon location or if you are just looking for somewhere amazing to have some down time, look no further than Zanzibar in Tanzania or the Lamu Archipelago off the coast of northern Kenya - these are the beach destinations of your wildest dreams!

This is just the tip of the coconut in terms of what we can do for you when creating the ultimate East African adventure!

Lastly, in our Green Tribe section we report back about hosting a group of Aussie and Kiwi visitors after their trip to the Meetings Africa expo in February. The short programmes we created for them in Cape Town and Durban were extremely fun but also meaningful with a strong community-based element.

The onset of autumn is by no means an end to meetings and incentives in our regions! Have a look at our website to see what we can do for you - www.greenroute.co.za!

Wishing you all the best!

I'm Lesley, I was born and raised in Zimbabwe and spent my university years in South Africa, graduating from the University of Cape Town. I have spent more than half my life in Africa and the other half in the USA, living in Washington DC. I was part of Green Route's team pioneering incentive groups into the Elephant Hills Hotel at Victoria Falls. Then I pursued my love of the hospitality industry in London, working in corporate event management for a few years. I later married an American and moved to the US where I worked in private equity as Finance & Operations Manager for an investment firm. After many years of managing fund operations, I decided to move back to my roots to spearhead Green Route's East Africa initiative. I am passionate about Africa and my key requirements in life are new challenges and to love what I am doing! I have certainly found that here and continue to be amazed and inspired every day by the beauty of Africa and its people.

Serengti & Masai Mara...

An endless river of life stretching across the horizon, charging its way forward, accompanied by primal grunts and the low rumbling of thousands of hooves. The annual Great Migration in the Serengeti and Masai Mara reserves is one of the greatest wildlife spectacles in the world, taking place between June and October. Green Route East Africa can take you there, in magical style!

The movement of vast herds of wildebeest and other grazing herbivores across the Serengeti-Mara ecosystem commences in Tanzania and follows a roughly circular route up to the sanctuary of Kenya's Masai Mara, before the game return from whence they came.

When the availability of grass on the plains of the South Eastern Serengeti dwindles and the scent of rain in the north beckons, this provides the impetus for the herds to gather on an immense scale. They begin their trek in search of greener pastures by first heading west and then northwards.
